no ct scan…yet

Filed under: Uncategorized — Vanessa @ 4:08 pm

Brock’s lab came back at 0.9, which is still above normal but significantly lower than it was.  So we won’t be doing the ct scan next week, but his oncologist wants him to have a follow up scan in January.

We go back next week to repeat the same lab.

Thank you for praying.  The spinal tap went well.  They also drew blood to repeat the fungal lab and the results should be back by the end of this week or the beginning of next.  Jay and I are praying and believing that it will come back normal.  If it’s not normal, Brock will go for another CT scan on Tuesday the 22nd.  He’s had more CT scans than I can count – all of which come with their own set of risks.  We’d be REALLY happy if he didn’t have to have another one.

I’ll update you as soon as we get the lab results.

In the meantime, enjoy a few pictures…

Update

Filed under: Uncategorized — Vanessa @ 9:30 pm

We’re still here. Things have been going so well for the past few months and honestly it’s been nice to not HAVE to update about anything.

There’s plenty I could tell you about, though. The 2 year anniversary of his diagnosis, Brock’s 3rd birthday, and what he thinks of his new baby sister who was born exactly one week ago. I promise I’ll be back soon to fill you in on everything.

Buttonight I’m asking for prayer for a few things. Brock has a spinal tap and chemotherapy in the morning. He also starts a round of steroids. Pray that the spinal tap goes well and that the side effects from the steroids aren’t too horrible.

Also, remember back in August when everyone got nervous about Brock’s fungal lab being elevated? Well, it’s high again – higher than we’ve ever seen it. I think it was 1.something back in August and the last one we tested was almost 5. Normal is around 0.2. They’re going to draw the lab again tomorrow. Please pray that it’s back to normal. Pray that the fungal infection isn’t getting worse. Pray for wisdom for the doctors about how to treat him.

Thank you for praying for us even though we’ve been so ‘quiet’ the last few months.
