Brock Rocks

ICU update

Filed under: Uncategorized — Vanessa @ 8:04 pm

Don’t have the energy or emotional stability yet to recount what happened. So just prayer requests. Some of them won’t make sense until I can give the full update.

Pray:
– that his heart and kidney function would remain strong
– that there is no brain damage from the time he was without oxygen
– that the fungal infection will be controled
– that he stays in remission
– that God will erase today’s horrible images from our minds and allow us to rest tonight

Praise:
– Brock’s alive
– God is good

  11. V I know there is no one that can say they know how you feel, because that is your child and only you have the feelings and love for him as a parent. Do you remember when we were in stem cell and Kaden coded? That has to be by far the most traumatic part of my life by far. That Is something that replays over and over again in my head. Even knowing your child is sick that is something no parent is ever prepared for. I can’t and won’t say I know how you feel but I can say I know no parent should have to be where you are right now. My heart is breaking for you and J. I will tell you like you guys told me. He is a fighter, and has shown that on many occiasions. He has come to far to give up now. You know your lil man better than anyone and you this. Try and rest, we know that’s not too easy in icu, but you gotta stay strong. I am praying for Brock and his mommy and daddy. If u need anything, even just to scream and cry I’m here. You have been there for me when I was at my worst, you have been my shoulder many times.

  23. Matthew 19:13-14 Then people brought little children to Jesus for him to place his hands on them and pray for them. But the disciples rebuked them. Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”

I believe that God is holding Brock, and has been since the day he was welcomed into this world. I believe that children know a peace that most of us don’t have the faith to know. I believe that Brock feels this peace even though he can’t articulate it. I believe that every time Brock opens his eyes to a new day, he knows that all is right with the world and that he will be taken care of and the moment he sets eyes on Mom, Dad or Sissy…a joy that adults seldom experience washes over him. I believe every time Brock closes his eyes in the darkness of night, he knows that all is right with the world and that he will be taken care of and the moment he drifts off to sleep he walks hand-in-hand with the Lord in his dreams. Brock is blessed to have parents that praise God through the storms. Blessings have been abundant in your family and I know that they will continue to be.

Lord, bless this family as you have so many times before. Provide Brock the strength to fight just as you have so many times before. Wrap Brock, Vanessa, Jay and Jaycie in your arms and help them feel your presence. Bring peace to those who love this family just as you have so many times before. Lord show your amazing grace and unparalleled healing power just as you have so many times before. Lord, give us faith, like children, in knowing that you are in control of this and all situations. Through all this, may your name be glorified and lifted up. Thank you for carrying this family when they are too weary to continue to walk. In your name I pray, amen.
