Brock Rocks

We’re still here!

Oh my.  I didn’t realize I left you all hanging with that ‘we’re in the hospital’ post. Consider this my attempt to appease you with pictures.

So it ended up that the skin around Brock’s g-tube was infected.  We went home right before New Year’s (Years?  Years’?) Eve and finished up 2 weeks of iv antibiotics at home.

Jay and I are old pros at doing iv meds at home.  Brock was on iv antifungals 3 times a day for MONTHS!  But man!  We felt out of practice!  It was the easy kind to give – no reconstituting vials – but we were certainly glad when the 2 weeks were up.

After over a year of updating on Brock’s health nearly every day, I have to admit that it was NICE to have a break.  There were definitely things going on that I could’ve blogged about (eating! walking!) but I enjoyed being able to relish those with our own little family for awhile and not need to get online to tell everyone about the latest crisis.

Don’t worry – I’ll bore you to tears in the near future with stories of all the things he’s doing. (eating! walking!)

For more frequent updates you can follow us on twitter or facebook.

Hope you all had a lovely new year!  Thank you so much for continuing to pray with us.  God has used you to be such a blessing to our family!

    • While I’m flattered that you think I’m so young, I have to tell you that was not me in the picture, but my 19 year old niece. 🙂

  8. Thank you for posting the beautiful pictures. What a joy for me to see him outside playing. I can’t even imagine all of the emotions you were experiencing. Praise God he is doing so well and you are able to enjoy doing “normal” things as a family. You guys are always in my prayers.

Happy New Year to all of you!
