Brock Rocks

Prayer Requests

Brock will have surgery at 8:30 tomorrow morning to try to remove the area of fungal infection from his left lung/pleural cavity.  The plan is to try to do that via VATS (video assisted thoracoscopic surgery).  This is the least invasive approach and would result in the least amount of pain and recovery time.  Please pray that they can remove the infection using VATS.

If VATS doesn’t work then they will attempt a thoracotomy.  This is a much more invasive procedure that would result in MUCH more pain and recovery time.  For a thoractomy they would have to cut through the muscle of the chest and separate his ribs in order to gain access to the pleural cavity.  The more invasive the surgery, the greater the risks and complications.  Please pray that they can remove all of the infection without having to do a thoracotomy.  If he has to do the thoracotomy please pray that Brock’s pain, recovery time, and complications would be minimal.

They have an ICU room reserved for Brock for after the surgery.  Hopefully he won’t need it and we can go to the hem/onc floor.

Thank you so much for continuing to lift us up in prayer.  Tomorrow is a big day and we’re praising God for the miracles he’s performed in Brock’s life and asking Him to show Himself mighty and merciful once again.

  7. Dear God we just pray that you would be in total control of this surgery. Please let the infection be in the exact right spot so that the surgeons can remove it completely and in the least invasive way. We pray that you would keep Brock wrapped in your loving, healing, protective arms and that he would have miraculous recovery from this procedure. Please give the rest of the family, Jason, Vanessa, Jaycie all of the peace and comfort that only you can provide; resting in the assurance that you have good plans for Brock and for them as a family. May you once again be glorified through the miracles we have seen you already perform and wait in expectation for you to perform again in this precious baby boys life.

    In Jesus Name-
    Amen

  10. Praying that God gives you all the guidance you need to lean on Him and trust in His mighty and perfect plan. Praying and knowing that God will be sitting right beside Brock, holding his hand throughout the entire surgery. Wish I could be there this weekend to take care of him but I will be back on Monday night, if you all are still there. I know he’ll do great!
