Brock’s CBC and CMP both looked good today.  He got two types of chemo through his port (and slept in his stroller while he got them).  Thankfully, it was a short visit with the doctor because he’s been doing so well the past couple of days.  (It wasn’t a short visit overall, however.  It took 3 hours to get his port accessed, talk to the doctor, get his chemo, and track down a nutritionist).

We’re going to try to start transitioning Brock’s formula from Vivonex (which costs about 4.8 million dollars a month and smells like vomit) to Pediasure (which does not cost 4.8 million and does not smell like vomit).  We’ve tried Pediasure in the past (when he was in the PICU and he didn’t tolerate it very well.  We’re praying that if we sloooowly switch him over he’ll be able to handle it better this time.

Several people have asked me about the g-tube plug.  No, we didn’t find it.  I’m almost certain it was vacuumed up and thrown away.  We did, however, find out that the little plug we pull from his iv bags each night works as a decent substitute.

My camera battery is dead and the charger is lost somewhere in the boxes that came home from the hospital (which has yet to be unpacked).  As soon as I find it I’ll post some new pictures.

  2. So great to hear about Brock’s good Dr. report today. Praying now that he will tolerate the Pediasure so he can get off the formula that costs 4.8 million dollars & smells like vomit(lol, Vanessa, your sense of humor cracks me up!) Take care & Blessings to you all!
