We talked with the hematologist this morning and she let us know that Brock will be staying in the hospital for the next 3 weeks to receive his initial treatments.  With the time of year that it is, and the age that he is, the hospital is the safest place for him to be to reduce his risk of infection.

Brock will start chemotherapy this morning.  The doctor talked with us about what drugs he’ll get over the next 3 weeks, what the drugs do and what the side effects are.

I cannot express how grateful and overwhelmed I am by the outpouring of love and support from family and friends, as well as from strangers.  God is so good at showing his love and mercies.

I hope to be updating with prayer requests and praises often.  So here’s today’s.

Praises:
-Brock has ALL – the most common/treatable/curable type of cancer.
-The cancer has not spread to his spinal fluid or brain, which is common with leukemia.

Prayer Requests:
-That Brock would be able to endure the hard side effects of the drugs.
-That he would regain his appetite and be able to avoid going on IV nutrition.
-That Jaycie would be able to handle things well.
-That Brock would stay free from infection while his immune system is compromised.
-That Jay and I would be able to get some rest.
